Through this course students will study the Merton (1974) model to have the following practical capabilities(1) Students can actually carry out value investment by calculating the fair stock price for a listed corporation (2) Students can actually carry out credit analysis by calculating the corporate default probability for a listed corporation (3) Students can enhance their general understandings on major topics in corporate finance including MA corporate governance capital structure and so on (4) Students can indirectly experience what financial analysts do in investment banks by writing their own analyst reports (5) Students can enhance their general understandings on small and midium sized companies in the course of corporate analysis or writing an analyst report (6) Students can enhance their career development capability by submitting their corporate analyst reports to student contests or utilizing them for job interviews (7) Students can have a strong self confidence in their j
